Greetings neighbors, Im the web guy from WPSL AM 1590, Port St. Lucie, Florida and it's two wonderful AM "sister" stations here on Florida's Treasure Coast!
Globalization is a wonderful thing but local businesses can truly benefit from the combined use of your local radio station and the internet. You have the most wonderful multi-media resource at your fingertips.
WPSL recently welcomed a new program, Fridays at 10am, "Talkin' Tourism" with Gary Guertin. Gary and his company Harborage Yacht Club and Marina have created a BLOG and I recently linked it to our schedule page on WPSL.com. This is how I discovered Blogger.com so I could follow their blog.
Guertin displays a magnificent use of multi-media resources. Not only does he globalize his business with the internet, His radio show, featuring local and special guests can develop quite a following. Many businesses are truly missing out on the benefits of combining their live radio programming and/or radio advertising with the internet.
Local businesses understand the internet is hot. Radio continues to prove a very strong ally but we now know that the more accessible YOU ARE to your customers (radio, internet blogs, social networks, etc.) the more success you will experience. By simply adding a blog with a local radio show, empowers your audience to connect with you. Naturally, this connects YOU with THEM. A special TRUST develops. This helps create a stronger local community as well.
As more of our distinguished show hosts make this discovery, I am certain somebody will be clicking around looking for the web guy....
